HR's Role in Merger Integration, and 5 Myths Dispelled
Presented by Steve Nunn
Senior executives announce a merger, but the real work and challenges occur during the integration. Unfortunately, it is claimed that over 70% of merger integrations fail due to many factors, including culture and talent management. This presentation given by Steve Nunn will provide a high-level overview of the post-merger integration process. It will discuss HR’s role within an integration, and move on to dispel 5 myths associated with Small and Medium sized Business (SMB) integrations. More importantly, participants in HR and OD roles will have an opportunity to explore how to apply these best practices to develop their own business partnership skills.
This workshop will:
- Highlight how M&A is typically a strategic response to the marketplace and a desire to achieve competitive advantage
- Give insight into how the M&A and the Post-Merger Integration (PMI) timelines align
- Explore the HR role through the M&A and PMI timelines
- Reveal 5 myths associated with SMB integrations, providing insight into success factors
