October Monthly Meeting Designing Sustainability into an Organization
With Rivana Stadtlader
Leaves. Yes, leaves. They seem to be popping up everywhere! On cars, on coffee, on clothing. On gas pumps, gadgets and garbage trucks. Everything seems to be energy saving. Everything seems to be recyclable or made of recycled material. Everyone seems to be an environmentalist. From organic farmers to oil executives, they are all talking about being green.
And how they talk! Sustainability. Triple bottom line. Resiliency. Greenhouse gas. Carbon credits. Water sense. Mitigation. Adaptation. Agrifiber. Minimum content. LEED, MERV and PPM. Complete street and heat islands. It is a completely new language for a new millennium.
No longer just for the environmentally conscious or curious. Being green has become a business imperative. Customers are seeking out green products. Investors are looking for green start ups. Employees are moving towards companies with conscience. Managers are learning that the very same actions that are good for the planet, are also good for profits.
Join us at the next SFLODN session to learn why and what to do now. How do you really become a sustainable company? We will explore the practical steps that you can take, and the particular role that an Organizational Development professional must play to in order to ensure that the transition is successful.
It will be a session that will give you new insights and expand your thinking. Get ahead of the crowd. Help make your organization a sustainable one!
Rivana Stadtlander, from the Office Sustainability for the City of Ft Lauderdale has lots to share! See you there.
