September Monthly Meeting - Power, Politics, and Partnership
With Angela Sebaly
Do you have leaders who just don't get the importance of organizational agility?
Do you yourself struggle with organizational politics?
Do you play a critical role in assisting others in partnering more effectively across silos?
If so, you may be interested in learning more about Barry's Oshry's systems theory on Power, Politics and Partnership.
Human beings belong to many systems; marriage, family, community and of course, organizations. Every system has conditions of the system that are not unique, they are the conditions of organizational life. When we step into an organization, we step into these conditions as they existed before we came and they will exist well after we have left. But, individuals are unique and as individuals we have the opportunity to make better decisions about how we interact, engage and partner with others throughout the organization. In this session, we will create an organization of Tops, Middles and Bottoms based on Oshry's theory and we will simulate our own organizational conditions.
After experiencing the organizational conditions, we'll break down our experience so that we can understand what occurred and why. We'll explore predictable conditions, predictable reflex responses and disempowering scenarios of organizational life. At the end of the meeting you'll have more insight and tools for how you can coach, develop and transform the way others lead in their organizations
