Making Change: Exploring the Intersection of OD and Diversity and Inclusion

with Mary Martinez, Diversity and Inclusion Practice Leader

According to the ASTD, “Organization development practitioners help companies manage change and align people, process and practices for success.” This means that they have a lot in common with those tasked with leading diversity and inclusion (D&I).  In fact, diversity work IS organization development.  In this session, Mary will explore some of the models and trends in D&I and how OD and D&I come together to advance change efforts in organizations.  Some of the topics she will explore include the need for deeper senior management involvement in leading D&I change, the value of better integrating the often independent change efforts of individual stakeholder groups, and how to ensure that the diversity and inclusion “lens” is applied to all systems within an organization.  The session will be interactive and offer opportunities for participants to share their own experience and learnings.
